PHILANTHROPY & COMMUNITY

Delivering Community Impact

We have a deep tradition of strong community engagement and support. Over the years, we have invested money, volunteer hours and technology to strengthen the communities where we operate and that our employees and their families call home.

PHILANTHROPY & COMMUNITY

Supported nonprofit organizations that introduce students to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in fun and informal settings. TWC is, as of the end of 2012, two-thirds of the way to achieving our $100 million cash and in-kind commitment, focused on raising awareness of this important issue.

PHILANTHROPY & COMMUNITY

Partnered with community-based, nonprofit organizations across the country to power Technology Centers – a combination of equipment, staff and/or connectivity – in underserved communities, including 16 centers in partnership with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC).

PHILANTHROPY & COMMUNITY

Assisted hundreds of employees directly impacted by Superstorm Sandy via the TWC Employee Disaster Relief fund, which provides emergency aid for needs such as food, clothing and temporary housing in the immediate aftermath of natural disasters – which also included the Texas wildfires in early 2012 and Hurricane Irene in 2011.

PHILANTHROPY & COMMUNITY

Donated nearly $1 million to outside organizations, including the Red Cross, Mayor Michael Bloomberg's Fund to Advance New York City for the City's emergency response needs and long-term restoration efforts, and New York Governor Cuomo's Empire State Fund to aid in the Superstorm Sandy recovery. Additionally, our employees helped serve more than 30,000 meals, cleaned up debris in hard-hit areas and raised more than $100,000, which the company then matched, for our Employee Disaster Relief Fund.
